Assistantships

Teaching Assistantships

The International Studies Program does not have its own undergraduate students and thus does not offer Graduate Teaching Assistantship (GTA) positions. However, some other departments on the Lawrence campus hire students from outside of their programs so may offer opportunities for international studies students. Most applications are due by February for the following school year.

Where possible the links below connect directly to information about teaching opportunities. However, where this information is not available, the link connects to the department’s website. Please use contact information provided there to inquire about teaching opportunities.

Contact information for other departments can be found through the alphabetical directory on the KU website: www.ku.edu .

Research Assistantships

Since International Studies draws on faculty from across the university, we do not have designated research assistantships for graduate students within the program. However, students have been able to secure assistantship positions in other departments. These positions are posted on the KU Employment site as they become available. Search under “Faculty, Staff and Student Positions” in both the student salaried and student hourly categories.
